Tuxedo Shirt and Poppy Skirt

I rummaged in my tiny little closet (nightmare for me) and found The White Tuxedo shirt was a purchase from Downeast Basics as well as the skirt, a while back. I do know the skirt is no longer available. The orange tee is from Coverwear. The eyelet slip extender from Vintage Hem and the heels well they are from DSW.. You know how I love the heels. Good thing I have that tall hubby. With my heels I am 6'1. No Shrinking Violet..

(you probably figured that since I post my rear end for all to see)
What do you have already existing in your closet? Go find some pieces and figure out a new way to wear it..Go and look and try different colors and textures together. Make your own style and be unique.

If we were all the same things would be mundane.

Successful Trip to Goodwill

We took an hour and found us some great deals!
The youngest child a 5 year old boy, found some good school clothes, for his rapidly shooting upwards bodyThe 7 year old daughter did too The 10 year old daughter got a jean jacket and a purse.. Backpacks for the three youngest kid. Nice and Sturdy brands!

What is the Greenest Thing You Can Do as Far as Style?

Who says it isn't okay to buy from consignment shops, thrift stores and second hand shoppes? Think of all the material saved, emissions from production saved, land resources saved and chemical output saved and the bonus, you usually save a ton a money and find great stuff. Don't forget you are helping those in need when you spend your $$ at stores like this. They usually fund a homeless shelter, a lunch kitchen for the poor, disabled individuals and so on and so forth. My favorite store is the Deseret Industries (a staple in the West). Sadly we don't have them here in the South, but still plenty of great places to look. As an example I am going out today. My mission to find the youngest three a new outfit for school. Plus I will see what I can find for myself in the process, last time I found a pair of Von Dutch jeans in my size and for five dollars. We are off!

You Can Find Young Girls Modest Dresses

You can find modest dresses you just have to look. I just got back from a visit to South Eastern Idaho and saw several stores that had modest dresses. It all goes back to supply and demand. Down here in the Southeast, modesty is not a priority, so I had to look elsewhere. I found some very cute dresses online at http://www.dillards.com/ by Jodi California. I bought this pink one below for my very tall skinny 10 year old daughter. She loves it.

Modest for girls sizes 7-Juniors. They are reasonably priced as well. To me I would rather pay the thirty dollars and not have to search and search. You can click on the dresses and they will take you to their site.

Fav Fav Fave Mineral Makeup

I love makeup! All sorts, but I absolutely love Ulta and their brand of mineral makeup. It goes on flawless for me and stays on the whole day in the heat and humidity.. It is also less than the more expensive brands. Best of all it is a sunscreen because it has zinc oxide in it.

Self Tanner Fav!! Also Tips for Applying a Great Tan!

I am a firm believer in self tanner! I am very, very, very pale. Think Nicole Kidman pale. I am pretty diligent of putting sunscreen on to ward off skin cancer (hopefully). I have tried every self tanner out there and this was the best by far! It doesn't streak, it doesn't smell and it leaves a natural color.. It also dries FAST.. It is $17.50. A little spendy , but in my opinion worth it..

Self Tanning Secrets from Origins

Self-tan insider secrets.
*Rather than applying one heavy layer, apply two thin layers over two days.

*Tanning the neck can be tricky. Lift your chin and rub a dime-size amount in. Keep your chin raise for about 5 minutes to prevent creasing.

*Don't forget to wear sunscreen. Self-tanner won't protect you from sunburn, cancer or wrinkles.

*To tone down streaks, use a cotton ball soaked in toner.

*Missed a spot? Apply self-tanner to pale spot and wait for it to dry. Then apply another thin layer to the surrounding area.

*Orange palms? Scrub with soap and water and exfoliate if necessary. Or wash your hair. The detergents in shampoos can help fade color on palms.

*Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Nothing will prolong your self-tan better.

All it takes to look golden is a little Glow-how.

1. In the shower, cleanse, shave your legs, and exfoliate your body to ensure even application.

2. Dry yourself completely. Self-tanner will not adhere to moisture.
3. Wait for your body temperature to return to normal.
4. Wear snug-fitting surgical gloves to apply self-tanner. Nothing says "phony" like deep brown palms.
5. Apply a small amount of body moisturizer to knees elbows, heels and knuckles on toes and fingers.
6. Apply in small, circular strokes, carefully covering every inch of you. Start with larger areas, such as thighs, buttocks and torso. Be careful not to miss any spots. Add more as necessary.
7. Joints react more strongly to self-tanner. To avoid dark creases, be sure your joints are bent when applying self tanner. Straighten them out while they dry.
8. Rub it in. When you see no shine on your skin, all of the self tanner has been absorbed.
9. Let your body dry. Lounge around in loose-fitting, dark colored clothing. If you self-tan in the evening, give yourself a few hours before going to bed. If you perspire during sleep, you may cause your tan to streak.
10. Avoid sitting on the good furniture.

Modest Magazine Eliza

Eliza Magazine
Check out this magazine for people interested in modest and stylish clothing.. What great ideas it has!!

Little Girls Can Be Modest Too!

I found this cute dress from Macy's , but knew it wouldn't be modest enough alone. So I added a red tee under it.. Total cost 24$$, the dress was 40% off at Macy's. You need to watch Macy's because they can have awesome sales. Don't let the name of the store scare or fool you, half of all my great deals for the family come from there.
