Long Break But I am Back

Just in time for the holiday season.. It is time for parties, with epically fantastic outfits.. We are always trying to save a little bit of money, so here is a dress that doesn't break the bank..

I know it looks short, I found mine on the clearance rack last week for $20. I am tall, and it comes to my knees. I swear the model in the picture is 6'4" and a size 0 for it to look this short.. On the website it is $36 and has a few sizes left.

My Yearly Dress Up.. I do buy and wear things I post..:)

The annual dress up occasion for me was just held recently. I love to dress up and dig through my closet for a week trying to decide what to wear.. I had one outfit all picked out and then at the very last minute and I mean last minute, I pulled out this top and a skirt I had hidden away on a hanger, covered in a Macy's bag, just waiting for it's special day. I was thrilled to see that the blacks matched exactly..( If you don't know by now there are several shades of black and one black doesn't necessarily match the other one.) The shoes?, sequined zebra 4 inch heels were the accessory along with a pair of silver dangle earrings and a beaded clutch from the 50's..
Ladies you can look and feel great and still be modest at the same time. This picture of me is proof.. I didn't have to worry if anything was hanging out that wasn't supposed to. I didn't have to keep pulling my skirt down, etc. etc.
Where do you find your dressy modest clothing??

The Cocktail Party Goes On!

<

The day the tornado came ripping through the area, we had a cocktail dress auction to attend. What made me fret more?? The stinkin auction, where my hubby and I would hob nob and rub elbows with some of the most influencial citizens of North Georgia. I knew we would be the couple with the least amount of $$$$ in the bank, but I knew that me the guru of deals could dress the part, for little money! I got to the auction and was SHOCKED at the immodesty of the outfits or should I say bedroom wear at this function. Except for the little old ladies with old Southern money, who were dressed in beautiful Chanel suits and reeked of class and dignity. I was actually aproached by one and asked if I lived in the Country Club and that she was happy to see someone who was dressed appropriately. I take that as a complement. I try to be appropriate.

The outfit

Black sequined knee length skirt by INC found brand new with tags at Goodwill for $4.89
Black Basic tee from Downeast Basics for $9.99
White Cotton Shirt on clearance from CATO for $5.99
Black strappy heels for $19.99 at Rack Room Shoes
Total cost for a modest evening cocktail outfit: $40.86 plus tax
