Fashonista Tomboy

I may talk about shoes and clothing alot, but another thing I love is sports! My favorite team always changes to which teams my kids are on. I love fashion and to dress up , but also I love to dress down and be that mom who isn't afraid to throw the football or baseball and even shoot hoops. I am a tomboy and will always be one.

A Tomboy that loves makeup, hair product, dresses and heels..

But Will NOt Wear Mom Jeans!! You may notice the Downeast Basics tee staple, my 3 Girls Running Jeans and my Tevas. As always Boise State Orange Sweatshirt (chilly that morning) on backwards.

Such and Oxymoron I am.

(In case you are wondering the oldest son to my left is 13 and the one to my right is 12. As a reference point I am 5'10". One day you too will face the fact that your kids will be bigger, taller and stronger than you.. I have faced it, but haven't embraced it yet...)

12 years ago.. Sigh....However those jeans do scare me.. LOL

Oh My Goodness Gracious! I LOVE!

I am IN LOVE!!!
Black Satin Rosette Peep Toes!!!
$22.99 at GoJane.com, and that isn't the only color..
Shoes and I are such great friends.!!
Now if I only had a bigger closet!!!

What A Great Dress, Especially for the Holidays.

What a Great Dress from http://www.chadwicks.com/.
It is $49.99 and comes in four different colors.
It runs small so if you normally wear a 6, I would get an 8 or 10 depending on your fit preference.
Just in time for the holiday season.
Oh the different kinds of shoes you could wear with this one..

Quick Ultrasound Update

I am waiting for the Dr. to call with the final results. Which you know could take a week. From what the U/S showed one had grown a small amount 2-3mm, but the other stayed the same. Hopefully I will know more soon.

When I was watching my U/S I noticed the horizontal striations and the tumors right on top of that. I said "hey that is my pectoral muscle" and the sonographer looked shocked that I could read it and, long story short the reason I can't feel them they are buried deep below right on top of the muscle in the breast tissue. So like I said earlier, they can be there even if you can't feel them so getting your mammogram is VITAL! Size does NOT matter.

The Wrap Dress On!

Some may remember one of my posts about the dress that flatters everyone.
Well here it is on with my Zebra INC (Macy's , not cheap)coat and you may also notice the Nine West Boots from a previous post.. I love the dress, wrinkles a bit if you sit on it long enough (i.e. church), but a nice coat always helps. You can still buy this dress at Metrostyle(however the promo code has expired). I was complemented by many when i wore this.. The thing I love about this dress, it is versitile and you don't have to dry clean it.. I could even wear it to the Atlanta Thrashers game I am going to for date night tonight..

I Have Been in the Dark Ages

I honestly hadn't heard of this book until just a few months ago.. I guess it has been out for a while now. I hear it is big "Out West", but not so much here (apparently). I hit Borders bookstore yesterday and bought the paperback for $10.99. I started last night about 11pm and finished it up around 2:30 am. Not bad for amost 500 pages. There are three more to read in the series.Good book and I hear a movie is coming out. However my almost 14 year old son, doesn't seem too interested in reading it.
What is interesting, this book rings true on so many levels. I remember what it was like to be a teenage girl "so in love" that I couldn't breathe, when he (first love) was away. I also remember dating the "forbidden fruit", of which now I am married to. However my forbidden fruit turned out to be all good in the end. Those feelings are intense in teenagedom and then we all move into reality (out of necessity), we look back and either laugh at ourselves or shake our heads in disbelief. I laugh now at how i visualized the fairy tale. I have all the components I wished for a tall, basketball playing man, five kids, a nursing license and a residence outside of Idaho. Back then I had no idea how hard it all really is.. That a fairy tale must be constantly worked on and fine tuned.

Tomorrow is the Nervous Nelly Day..

I have my breast ultrasound, to measure the lumps they found 6 months ago. If they have grown, I assume the next step will be a biopsy or an MRI.. I think being of medical background has it's advantages and disadvantages. You know the best and worst scenarios..

Here is a wakeup call for all you ladies out there. I being of the flat chested variety can have lumps that are undectible.

So everyone get your Mammograms!!!

Let's Shop for a Cause

If you don't know by now, or seem to live in a dark, damp dungeon, you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Hence why you may see tons of pink packaging at the store and pink ribbons galore. I feel very strongly about the plight of women and men (yes men can get breast cancer) and this cause. My maternal grandmother died from it in her early 50's. I have a follow up breast ultrasound this Wed. to rule it out. So with that. There are plenty of pink ribbons in the grocery store, in the mall and all around. Buy items that donate proceeds to the fight. My personal favorite M&M's and Yoplait yogurt. Tell me what your favorites are! Join with me and let's beat this beast!

Metrostyle has this $ 19.99 Back Pleat Pencil Skirt.
Very nice for fall and winter that are rapidly approaching..

I have had great luck with my online purchases from Metrostyle. The clothes are nice and fit true to size.

Another Dress from Shabby Apple I Want

Loving the name.... Black Widow. Still a little too high and out of my budget at $114.00. I don't know how many pairs of pumps, peep toes, or boots I have in my closet that would match this perfectly.
